MADD Live 2011

MADD Productions came back to Fort Purbrook in May 2011, after a very successful day in 2010. This year there were two performances under a large marquee, with things to buy along the side – like refreshments and jewellery. For the public, the day began at 11:30 when Junior Schools performed 'Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' to a large audience! The show then closed and the site was cleared to prepare for the second performance, a competition judged by Same Difference, where secondary schools, stage schools and other teenage performers competed to win up to 6 awards! As with every MADD Event, students (with the help from business mentors) stage managed, presented, filmed, assisted, sold refreshments, car-parked, ticket collected and much more as well as organising the event in the months leading up to 'MADD Live'. Music Coordinator at Cowplain Community School, Sue Dobbyn, said: “The MADD Live event was extremely well organised and ran smoothly. Students took responsibility for all aspects of the production and planning, and were overseen by professionals. Their enthusiasm and energy did not lapse over the entire day and they coped with the demands of huge numbers of participants and the audience with calm and confident professionalism.” For more pictures of the day, see the page!
